About the Rocky Mountain Racers
The Rocky Mountain Racers is a High-Performance Biathlon and Cross-Country club based out of the Canmore and Calgary area. We strive to create a positive and healthy environment for our athletes to thrive in, tailoring the athletes training to their individual needs. The club follows both Biathlon Canada and Nordiq Canada’s LTAD and runs from May till April.
Full time Assistant Coach
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to fill the vital position of assistant coach for our Biathlon and Cross-Country Skiing high performance programs as well as help continue to grow our development programs in Canmore and Calgary. The position would be typically be 30 hrs a week, with the exception of larger hrs during training camps and races.

Qualities & Education
The applicant should be:
They should at least have either a Nordiq Canada’s Train to Train Certification, Biathlon Canada Competition Introduction Certification, or been an athlete that has competed at a high level in Biathlon or Cross-Country Skiing.
The coach would be expected to continue with their professional development in both the sports of Cross-Country and Biathlon.
The applicant would also need to acquire the following Certifications or Licenses:
Salary
Salary will be dependent on the qualification / strengths of the applicant as well as starting date, but the expecting starting range is $50,000 per year. Position would be for a 1-year term, potentially leading to a permanent position.

- Work as part of team to deliver our Club’s programing of all levels
- Implement practices for a diverse range of athletes providing feedback on all aspects of training (ex. technique, strength, equipment, mentorship, nutrition)
- Organize and Lead Club Trips (races or training camps)
- Provide + coordinate Race Support (waxing, ski selection, splits, zeroing)
- Assist with social media, fundraising, and other club activities
- Traveling, working evenings, and weekends would be expected.
Qualities & Education

- Hard-working
- Self motivated / directing
- Excellent communicator
- Work well within a team
- Willing to learn
- Active
